Cecelia Taylor’s stepfather never expected this Christmas to be so lonely. His wife is away at a company party, his friends ignore his invitations, and even his beloved stepdaughter doesn’t attend. Frustrated and bitter, he destroys the gifts he has prepared and goes to bed in despair. But in the middle of the night, strange noises from the living room wake him.
