SCENE OPENS on Kelly (Gia Derza). She is in her kitchen when she hears the ‘ding’ of a message being received on her laptop. She looks at the screen curiously. Someone named Brent, who found her through a dating site, has messaged her. Despite some initial skepticism, she feels an early, shared connection with him when he mentions that, just like her, he’s 18 and his father died when he was young.
